Tropical Gardening Internship

Dig into the world of tropical gardening, organic farming, and permaculture through this three-month internship opportunity. During the internship, you will be working closely with Rachel Seemar, a New Jersey native who has gained extensive knowledge of organic agriculture during her 12 years as an organic farmer. Rachel has spent much of the last two years at InanItah, adapting her temperate climate knowledge to the tropics. You will have the opportunity to take on your own projects, as well as learn through one-on-one guidance.

  • Permaculture Principles
  • Tropical food forestry
  • Soil building
  • Composting methods
  • Water systems design
  • Swale design

Additional information:

  • In addition to volunteer responsibilities, all visitors, volunteers and interns are asked to contribute to the everyday needs of the community
  • 3 month minimum commitment
  • Internship orientations happen on Thursdays; therefore new volunteer stays begin on Wednesday nights. You are welcome to stay as a visitor until your volunteer orientation happens. More information about coming as a visitor available on the Visiting page.
