About Ometepe

Isla de Ometepe is the host island for InanItah. It is a magical volcanic island in the middle of Lake Nicaragua, the largest lake in Central America.

Isla de Ometepe Biosphere Reserve is a place of wonder and adventure, a fertile nature refuge blessed with lush jungle and diverse wildlife. The area offers many eco -adventure opportunities, including swimming, wind surfing, hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing and horseback riding.

This ancestrally rich lake island, once a sacred Indian burial ground, is comprised of twin fire and water volcanoes connected by a bridging land mass. Take time to explore the InanItah and you’ll find ancient rock carvings scattered throughout the land, epic views of the volcanoes, and sunsets that are pure bliss – each more beautiful than the last.
