Learn the art of Thai massage alongside local Nicaraguans and get a chance to practice your Spanish! In this course, you will be trained in the structure and techniques needed to practice a full body ShabaThaiYoga massage that brings together the traditions of Thai Massage, Shiatsu and modern Physiotherapy.
Practitioners tap into the body’s energy meridians to help remove blockages, re-balance the chakras, and restore the proper flow of energy – facilitating the body’s natural healing process to heal body, mind, and spirit. Techniques involve stretching, rocking, muscle compression and deep massage using thumbs, elbows, palms, forearms, feet and knees.
This course is an offering of the Intercultural Massage training, founded to support the creation of new economic opportunities for local Ometepe residents and is a cross-cultural healing experience in body, mind and spirit.
Shaba Kawn’s holds a degree in Oriental Medicine from the Florida College of Integrative Medicine. There he received advanced training Tui Na (Chinese Medical Massage). He graduated from the Bhakti Academy School of Intuitive Massage. He is also a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. Training in Hypnotherapy and Massage deepened his knowledge of the mind-body connection. Thus he can provide more powerful and diverse treatment options than merely those of an Acupuncturist alone. He has clinical practice since 1998 and is prepared to work with any condition safely, naturally, and compassionately.
Contribute $100 to the workshop. Any additional financial contributions will go to support the Intercultural Massage Program by helping to purchase new massage tables and provide scholarships for local Nicaraguan participants.
Contribution for the workshop tuition only. For information about staying here during the workshop, please refer to the Living section of the website.
